h how I love photographing children from year to year to see how they change and grow and these twin sisters were no exception! We had an *unbelievably* beautiful evening for our shoot (60 degrees in late November is unheard of here!), it just couldn't have been better!
Miss A and Miss S looked adorable and festive in their sweater dresses! Their mom had specifically asked me if we could go to a covered bridge this year because covered bridges have a special significance for her. When she was a kid, she had to cross one every day on her school bus ride home from school and she wanted pictures of her own family on a bridge. Mission accomplished!
How I love this first shot! It can be hard to get those pensive looks from more than one child at a time, but they pulled it off with ease!
I loved their little patterned tights and matching shoes!

OK, so I am no landscape/wildlife photographer...BUT, as I was leaving the session the sun was just barely peeking over the hillside and it was creating this most amazing glow on the opposite valley and rolling hills. I was admiring it when I thought I saw something amazingly rare and unique. I kind of did a double take and thought, nah...that's too good to be true! But then I needed to go back and check, so I hit my breaks and rolled down my window to motion my clients to just ignore me and keep on going. When they pulled up beside me, they rolled down their window and excitedly yelled, "Did you see that???" and then I knew I wasn't dreaming after all. I told them that indeed I did see it and that I was going back to try to capture it. Once I backed up and found a place to pull off, I knew I had a beautiful image awaiting me....one solitary black and white cow in the middle of a bright green pasture, a gorgeous farm and silos being totally lit and illuminated by the tiniest last bit of warm November sun and above it all, a full moon. I hope I did it justice!
ho would have known that the last day of October would have been such a fabulous day for a session? I still can't believe that there were trees with leaves!
Miss S and Mr D were great little sports during our session, despite the chilly weather. They were a lot of fun to work with and it was amazing to see how much they had grown. (I photographed them back during my portfolio building days, a little over 2 yrs ago!)

It can be really hard for 5 year old boys to smile naturally...and he definitely struggled. But I like what his mom had to say: "We'll just capture him for what he is right now". Actually, this is a great shot of his gorgeous teeth:)
